Duck River Fishing Reports

Recently shared catches and fishing spots

  1. Caught a nice sized bass on a jig. I was hung up on a tree and after I popped it off. This bass hit the lure. At first I thought I was still hung up, but then I ...more saw my rod twitching. Ended up marking just about 20inches. I would say was a good 4-5lbs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrTvlIPVi3I

    2. EthanKitter99 0

    3. Gavynb 0
Yeah I don't blame you man. It's a guessing game sometimes. Haha
    4. Daniel Siemssen 0
They have had some major sacks in tournaments on that lake this year lol. Yea it could have been... I was afraid with the north wind it'd give the Florida strains ...more lock jaw
    5. Gavynb 0
Geez!! Might have been better off at Williamsport. I'm trying out a new place tmrw on lake Chickamauga in Chattanooga.
    6. Daniel Siemssen 0
Yea I figured they would have started chasing the shad around... I couldn't even find the shad today! @Gavynb
    7. Gavynb 0
@dsiemssen dang man! One fish is better than none though! It's so stinking hot. Ready for the fall when the fish we'll get more aggressive. Too lethargic ...more for my liking. Haha
    8. Daniel Siemssen 0
Man it was a tough day.. I couldn't find the fish at all. Manage to boat one 3 pounder off the rocks in about 12' of water and missed a grass fish(at marrowbone) ...more @Gavynb
    9. Gavynb 0
      @dsiemssen any luck?
    10. Gavynb 0
Tough decision man!!! I guess the good part about Williamsport is it's fairly small. Just got to figure out what the bass want. That's always fun. Haha
    11. Daniel Siemssen 0
Williamsport and this north wind it might make it really tough at Williamsport. @Gavynb
    12. Daniel Siemssen 0
I'm going tomorrow. I haven't decided if I want to go to Williamsport or marrowbone yet... Marrowbone is clear and deep Williamsport is shallow and dirty. ...more But since the Florida strain bass are in...
    13. Gavynb 0
Let me know if the fishing picks up out at Williamsport!
    14. Daniel Siemssen 0
Man it really is a small world haha. That's crazy haha @Gavynb
    15. Gavynb 0
      Small world. Haha
    16. Gavynb 0
      Yep that's him!
    17. Daniel Siemssen 0
@Gavynb skinny about 5'10ish in height? Went off to school so he doesn't work there any more? I think he's worked a couple of summers there now?
    18. Gavynb 0
Pretty positive he works in clothing. He has longish brown hair. Can't say he didn't get me some good deals this summer. Haha
    19. Daniel Siemssen 0
Really?? I work there too lol. Tyler bridges rings a bell but I can't put a face to it... What dept does he work in? I've been workin there 4 yrs now in ...more the hunting and fishing dept. @Gavynb
    20. Gavynb 0
Just saw your text about academy. Yeah man I've been there a couple times this summer! Haha my brother Tyler Bridges worked there over the summer as well.
    21. Daniel Siemssen 0
Haha... Hey fishing is still fishing bud! Doesn't matter if its a pond or lake it's still a body of water holding fish bro!
    22. Gavynb 0
Good deal. Now that I'm in Chattanooga mostly I have a couple good ones surrounding me. Haha
    23. Daniel Siemssen 0
Ehhh I wouldn't say it a lot but I fish it some. It has great potential. It's really known for crappie and trout fishing but they do have some big largies ...more in there from what TWRA agents say.
    24. Gavynb 0
No I have not. I'll have to check that out! You fish it a lot?
    25. Daniel Siemssen 0
Fishing. Do you shop at academy sports in Franklin when you are back in middle? If you do that's where I recognize you from. I work there in hunting and fishing ...more lol
    26. Daniel Siemssen 0
It really is a good place to fish...have you ever fished at marrowbone in joelton? They have it set up very nice. Real clear water.. Grass everywhere. Creek fed. ...more Rock walls. Deep water. Just tough...
    27. Gavynb 0
But like you said it's a great place locally!
    28. Daniel Siemssen 0
Yea exactly...have some grass in there as well. They don't have any kind of depth to the lakes so I'm sure oxygen is very low. @Gavynb
    29. Gavynb 0
That's great to know. I thought the same thing today about water flow. Hard to pinpoint them with none and being so hot.
    30. Daniel Siemssen 0
Water flowing into it besides rain water bc now it's just stagnant water. @Gavynb
    31. Daniel Siemssen 0
It's actually a good little fishery... They released Florida strain bass in there which is why they have such good quality fish in there now. But it would be ...more a lot better if they had some type of...
    32. Gavynb 0
Fished there for the first time in years this summer. Going to UTC now but hoping to fish it some when I'm home.
    33. Daniel Siemssen 0

Man you look familiar as hell. Do you shop at academy
    35. Daniel Siemssen 0
Yea I went 2 weeks ago and it was very slow. I noticed those lakes are either really hot or real dead. There's no in between. @Gavynb do you fish out there a ...more lot?
    36. Gavynb 0
Very nice. Fished it this morning. Really slow. Lost a decent one at the boat. Won't be returning till it cools down.
    37. Daniel Siemssen 0

Bust but then that one hit and took us for a ride in a 12' Jon boat. And after that fish hit, the rest of the day we ended up killing them. It was also released ...more to swim another day!
    42. Daniel Siemssen 0
