Geist Reservoir is a reservoir in Hamilton County. It was constructed in 1943 by damming Fall Creek to provide water for Indianapolis. Upon completion, Geist Reservoir was the second largest man made lake in Indiana.

      I'm not sure about the surrounding area....You used to be able to fish from the bridges, but that stopped years ago. I did just read that you could bank fish ...more at Geist part? Not sure where that is on the lake.

      That is sad. What about all the smaller places around there, like Mud Creek, etc? Sounds like I need to take a drive over there and scope it out. I've only been ...more over there once.

      You will have a hard time finding a place to bank fish on Geist. It is a private lake with multi million dollar homes....It cost 40 dollars just to launch a boat ...more there. In other words, they don't want people fishing there that are not homeowners. Sad but true.

      They do allow public fishing, but you will need a boat.....not many shore fishing areas
