    Construction at Silver Lake and Caples Lake

    EID construction crews are installing two new ...more ADA-compliant restrooms and completing some pavement restoration at the Silver Lake West campground in the coming weeks. In addition, spur (campsite parking) improvements and speed bump installations are taking place. A new ADA-compliant restroom is also being installed at Silver Lake’s Ferguson Point day-use area.

    At Caples Lake, crews will also install a new ADA-compliant restroom at the Woods Creek day-use site as well as some paving at Caples Lake auxiliary parking.

    Construction will last approximately three weeks.

    It was a really bad winter here. So for anyone like me hoping to get up to the high Sierra lakes on the Highway 88 corridor, I just got this shot. A shot of Caples ...more Lake and pic was taken by the folks at the Caples Lake Resort over the weekend. They are hoping for a late June opening. Plasse Resort on Silver Lake is scheduled for June 30th opening. Got a report that Red Lake is the same and both Blue lakes are hoping to open first half of July.

      I would think so. @johnny_huber Can't hurt to try anything. Cool thing about ice fishing is when using tip-ups you can try multiple baits and see what works

    A remote mountain lake in forested surroundings. The area is prone to cold nights and the access road is often closed by snow until June. Small boats only.
