11am, temp dropped, low 80s, winds gusting 15+, sky's was about to dump on us. Caught this chunky Bowfin, tucked the poles away, lightning in the area. 6-8FOW. ...more Threw out passed the break, sat for good while. Finally bumped a few times then snagged him. Fun fight. Grass bottom made it feel like a monster. Pic and release. 🎣

1030am, 90s. 4-5FOW, grass bottom, free floating the shiner off some reeds and Lilly's off the pier. Sat for good 1/2hr, turned around and pole popped. Snagged ...more this nice little chunk. Got him up, good lip hook, noticed this trooper has been living with a offset hook in its throat. Couldn't remove it without killing it. So left it. Seems to be good. Pic and release. 🎣

1130am, fishing the dock at Louisa State Park, quick front rolled through, 90s, dropped down lower 80s. Water temp upper 80s. 4-5FOW, bottom extremely grassy. Free ...more floating the shiner, letting it do its thing. Gar, nipped and played, finally grabbed it. First and only for the Mrs today. Batting average is dropping. Pic and release. 🎣
