1. So I'll be trying to get me some jack on my days off and was wondering what's the best way to hook them for bait. Can I cut them in chunks or does it have ...more to be whole? Never used it before but I know it's and awesome bait. Same with bonita

I use a long 15" flat head that I filed down and made cut behind it to grab the drops to pull back @j_reyes
    2. j_reyes 0
I was gonna use a screwdrived
    3. BIG_GAME_TACKLE 0
They're pretty easy to make @j_reyes

@andydinh where you get your rigging needles from?
    10. andydinh 0
Any time ur rigging big baits like big rays Sheeps and jacks u wanna get a rigging needle so ur drops are smooth and won't be messy tearing up ur bait and having ...more loose hooks when using j hooks
    11. Gunner Newberry 0
Thanks @bassinboy01 but I just wing it! Lol I consult FS for rigging techniques and so far have no big greys to show for miles and miles of paddling out drops

    19. BIG_GAME_TACKLE 0
Hey @mredus8 what school you go to? You look familiar
    20. mredus8 0
I will be doing the same
    21. BIG_GAME_TACKLE 0
Sweet. I'm going to try that hopefully this coming week when I'm off @fishingmatt @mredus8
    22. mredus8 0
As for Bonita I put them inside panty hose so the crabs don't tear them up.
    23. mredus8 0
With any bait it's the same. It's about hook placement and how big of a bait you like to run. I will run a 40 plus inch jack hole. You can cut them in half ...more to.
    24. fishingmatt 0
@mredus8 is your guy... He uses them down south, check out his blerts

On. Just wanted to try something new @bassinboy01 @robz713
    29. BIG_GAME_TACKLE 0
I mean I've used several live and dead bait just never tried jack. Wasn't sure if there was a good or bad way to hook them. I have no problem doing that ...more with whiting, mullet, ray, lady, sheeps, and so
    30. Swamp Mafia 0
It depends on the size of the jack and the Sharks your after. If it's a large jack I would cut it into bite size chunks for the size shark you are after. Smaller ...more jacks can be used whole, tail removed.
    31. Jacob Breaux 0
the fish. Cut: with a circle hooked at the top of the chunk.
    32. robz713 0
Sweet that sounds good some guy at the dike Friday stopped by to take a whiting from my said they where gettin bit on em good luck bud
    33. Jacob Breaux 0
But to try and answer the question, I've heard of people using smaller jacks and bobo's whole, hooked with a circle through the head, or thread J's so ...more they come out behind the dorsals out the side of
    34. Jacob Breaux 0
I mean I can BS an answer from the research I've done, but no personal experience 😂 @robz713
    35. robz713 0

    36. robz713 0

    37. Jacob Breaux 0
      @SwampMafia @MulletHead @GunnerNewberry @fishingmatt @andydinh
    38. Jacob Breaux 0
@robz713 Ha no he wouldn't! I'm just getting started with this whole chark thing
    39. BIG_GAME_TACKLE 0
I know I've used big whiting and I put them live and make small cuts to let them bleed out slowly. @robz713
    40. robz713 0
@bassinboy01 would know how to hook em
    41. robz713 0
I think a whole fish wouldn't attract as much but I'm no shark expert
    42. robz713 0
I'd go whole or half I've had great luck with dead bait by using the head half that was shad but Maybe use 3/4 that way it's still a big chunk but still ...more letting juices and blood seep out
