Went fishing 🎣 on the Manasquan Inlet north jetty this evening on a cool, sunny day with a moderate south wind and outgoing tide. After not getting a hit in the ocean, I caught, tagged and released an out of season and undersized fluke with a plain hook Ava A-17 on my first cast into the inlet. Then I caught, tagged and released a 12” windowpane flounder with the Ava jig in the inlet. A gang of 5 arrived from China and took over my ocean spot. I took a photo of one of the intruders fishing 🎣 next to my bucket. I saw them catch 3 fluke. After they left, I caught, tagged and released 2 more sundials in the ocean. After sunset, shad and herring were chasing minnows in the ocean but I didn’t catch them. At night, after a fisherman fished to my left, then to my right and another fisherman was fishing in the surf near the jetty I decided to quit fishing early because it was too crowded. Saw minnows and fluke under the lights in the inlet but didn’t get a hit again. Another fisherman caught a hickory shad.
