Went fishing in the Manasquan, NJ, surf this evening on cold, sunny day with a nor’wester small craft advisory and incoming tide. Got the first parking spot near the jetty again. Only three cars were there. Ocean was still very rough after the nor’easter. The last two surfers left after I arrived. Wore my High ‘N Dry chest waders with the cracked seam. Didn’t get wet. The two patches worked. Caught, tagged and released a 13” and 11” windowpane flounder with my brother John’s homemade synthetic black and white buck tail teaser and Bogan’s Brielle Bait and Tackle plain hook Ava A-17. The second sundial threw the hook in the wash but I managed to grab it before it could swim away. Three young fishermen were in my under the lights inlet spot at night. Saw a small school of minnows, several fluke, and squid fishermen with 3 underwater green lights in Point Pleasant. Didn’t get a hit under the lights at night yet this year. Caught fish 🎣 on my last 14 consecutive trips to Manasquan this year. Landed 29 sundials.
