i know this isnt a gar it was my first paddlefish ever cought. and safely released and got the hook out too. took 30 mins to reel him in tho ON 12 LB line.

Mason Young 0yes it was illegal but we had it out of the water for only 5 seconds just for the pic and then i released him. i knew it was illegal and i did accidentally snag ...more it but because it was so big and heavy it was bigger than i was in i had it standing upright by me. thats why we took a quick pic and then released it. i release all my fish.
