My oldest daughter just hooked this one. It swallowed the hook to deep. Couldn’t get it out and by time we decided to cut the line I believe it died. Sad.

Bluegills are so heavily populated that killing one here and there is not such a big deal.....I know that sounds cruel, but that's life sometimes.....Next time ...more keep it for catfish bait...lol

heidi, if you can get the hemostats on the eye, and push in the opposite direction, you can possibly get the hook out. Hard to say without being there.

Much better!! Yum! Lol. I think I'd have better luck fishing out of my sons tank than in the lake.

Lol!!! I totally get it! I’m sure there’s plenty more Bluegill in that lake. No worries! Have a burger instead.......

Only could see the eye of the hook, we had those hemostats. Gosh I felt so bad, lol. Ed, we don't eat fish but it does smells good. I just can't eat what ...more I see alive. Ha ha I'm picky I guess.

That's why I carry hemostats when I fish for panfish and trout. Allows you to get into those tiny mouths to retrieve a hook. Takes some practice, but most go ...more back, alive.
