4/3/14, Largemouth, Smallmouth, & Freshwater Drum. 1 day after rainy cold front. Water temp 61-66, air 59-72, wind SSW 20-30mph, cloudy skies, rain forecast,didn't happen. Bar 29.16⬆️. Small lake current. Moon- waning Gibbus. All bass (7) in 2-3# range. Drum (5) 5-8#. Finally made it back to the water. Fished with good friend I hadn't seen in 2 yrs ( see Blert re: full moon on Pickwick 4/2012).

#5 ShadRap Gold, Booyah 3/8 Tandem Spinnerbait (Gold Willow blades) in white/gill with Pearl colored Baby Brush Hog trailer fished slowly off secondary points and deep creek channels near spawning bed

      I threw it for 6 hrs both with and against the wind without any problems. Can't ask for better performance from any reel at any price.

      Oops! Sorry guys. That Curado is on my Quantum Dance Class Classic. It was a Phleuger on the Berkley. Less reel by performs excellently with that Rod & line ...more combo.

      Threw SSR5 on med 7' spinning rod w Mitchell 401 (antique but still my best reel after 50 yrs of use) strung w 6# braid and no leader. Double surgeon knot; easy ...more to tie, holds well, strong & reliable.

      Threw spinnerbait on berkley cherrywood med. heavy 6'6" w Curade reel & 12# mono.

      Baits were 3/8 oz Booyah tandem Spinnerbait w gold willow blades and white/green gill skirt with back 3/4 length of pearl colored baby brush hog for trailer. Second ...more bait was ShadRap 5 SSR5 in gold.
