I just wanted to see any suggestions on a good fishing kayak for ocean and lake fishing. I am completely new to kayak fishing and it looks totally awesome. Any suggestions would work great. My budget is most probably about $1000-$1400. If there is a great kayak below $1000 I will gladly take it though.

Ride 135 if you want to stand up tarpon or thresher is you don't plan on standing up at all.

Okay cool! Yeah I'd make a milk crate rod holders because yak attacks rod holder cost 50 dollars just for 1.

@Crookcody19 Thank you so much for all the input! I think I may go with this. A very good price and you seem to like it. Should I make one of those milk crate rod ...more holders because I see it does not

Carry 550 pounds of gear. And being 6,1 and playing sports you'll be able to carry any one of these kayaks just wanted to make sure ahah

Times so that if it ever happens out in the ocean you'll be able to rely on your practice. Now with the ride 135 your going up in weight and a bit slower but ...more you increasing stability and being able to

Might find better prices on there. Now with the tarpons though they are easier to tip over so if you get a tarpon I highly recommend you practice tipping your kayak ...more and getting back in it multiple

@crookcody19 Wow thanks for all the input. I am about 6-1 140 lbs. I play sports so in pretty good shape. I found the tarpon 120 on craigslist for $700 would that ...more be a good deal?

Now again I'm a wilderness system kayak lover and am a little bias towards them. But I highly recommend you look at those models. If you don't mind me asking ...more how big are you?

Speed. I'd look at the wilderness system ride 135 and the tarpon 120 or 140 models. In my opinion for you be better off with the ride 135 because it gives you ...more good speed and is also very stable.

Look at the wilderness system tarpons and ride serious. Those are by far my favorite kayaks. If your going fishing in the ocean your going to want a kayak longer ...more than 12 feet to give you increased

Look at the wilderness ride 115x and the 135 models. If your ocean I'd go with the ride 135 because it's faster.
