Got a new rod and reel for my birthday. Shimano Curado 7.2 to 1 gear ratio, 20 pound pline with a Ducket Ghost rod 7 foot Medium.

  20lb is fine. 15lb would be better but 20 is fine.

  You should try 12-14lb max. Get more line in your reel bud
