Anything that's has a strong backbone. Finore tycoon is a good strong rod that won't break the bank
    4. HoldenAdams 0
      Any rod suggestions ? @mredus8
    5. HoldenAdams 0
Ok thanks for the info! @mredus8
    6. mredus8 0
A world record the high end reels are the way to go. A lot of drag and a lot of line@holdenAdams
    7. mredus8 0
A 50w or a 80w AVET or okuma makira. Yes they cost a lot but there not gonna fail when it comes down to it. You need good line and a strong rod. I've seen 9/0s ...more bring some nice sharks but if you after
    8. HoldenAdams 0
      @mredus8
    9. HoldenAdams 0
Oh well what do you suggest
    10. mredus8 0
You will also have problems with the drag overheating
    11. HoldenAdams 0
Haha In not going for a shark that can out spool a 16/0 @mredus8
    12. mredus8 0
      @holdenAdams
    13. mredus8 0
A 9/0 won't handle a huge shark from the beach. I know guys that have been spooled by sharks on a 14/0 and a 16/0.
    14. HoldenAdams 0
Huge haha @mredus8 I'm gonna get the penn 9/0 and still looking for a rod any suggestions ?
    15. mredus8 0
So what size sharks are you wanting to catch? @holdenAdams the size you want to catch will determine the size of reel you need to buy
    16. HoldenAdams 0
      Ya I'm looking into the 9/0 @bassinboy01

Ok man I can't help ya with shark reels, but I know the guys on here that shark fish like those 9/0's. Seems like a great reel that won't break the bank
    19. HoldenAdams 0
Ya I just had 2 eye surgery's for a detached reitna so I've had a lot of time to research lol @bassinboy01
    20. Jacob Breaux 0
Have you seen the website tx-sharkfishing? Awesome info and tips
    21. Jacob Breaux 0
@holdenAdams Ah ok I gotcha. The reason I haven't gotten into shark fishing is because it is quite a large investment of time and money. Lots of gear to get ...more and homework to do. Just a thought
    22. HoldenAdams 0
Ya well I have a good bull red setup @bassinboy01

    25. Jacob Breaux 0
So you're targeting sharks then over bullreds right?
    26. HoldenAdams 0

@matt u want to see about deleting his 2 other accounts?
    29. HoldenAdams 0
      I'm looking at the squall 50w or 60w @lovemore @bassinboy01
    30. HoldenAdams 0
      My price range
    31. HoldenAdams 0
Sorry for so many profiles I just keep for getting my password but this one I do know it wish I could delete the others idk how though @SwampMafia @bassinboy01 and ...more ya @lovemore but the avet isn't in
    32. mike2014 0
      Avet reels all the way
    33. jacob jacob 0
The mlx will also catch u monster shark if u catch them close enough to shore
    34. jacob jacob 0
If ur targeting reds get an avet MLX @bassinboy01 knows what hes talkin about with that. Avet makes a solid reel
    35. jacob jacob 0
The squall is a kick ass reel but if ur gonna spend that money and ur targeting shark get a 12/0
    36. jacob jacob 0
@holdenAdams if ur using the squall for shark and doing it right u have to take the bait out 500 yards so ur gonna need to use braid backing so u have more around ...more 1000 yards
    37. jacob jacob 0
      @holdenAdams message me
    38. Swamp Mafia 0
      What's it now 6 - 8 profiles for you?
    39. Jacob Breaux 0
I don't know of any reels out there you can efficiently cast and yak baits out with. Unfortunately with fishing, you get what you pay for usually...
    40. Jacob Breaux 0
Best thing you can do is get a raptor series MXL or LX from Avet and don't look back, or a Release LG like @MulletHead has. Then you can still cast and have ...more more drag than you'll ever need
    41. Jacob Breaux 0
Honestly if you want something that can handle both bullreds and good sized sharks, a senator 4/0 is your best bet without spending the money on an avet.
    42. Jacob Breaux 0
What happened to your old account?
    43. HoldenAdams 0
And ya @SwampMafia I was looking at a penn squall 50w holds 500yds of 40lbs
    44. HoldenAdams 0
Everyone this is my new account that I'm commenting with right now plz follow this one instead @SwampMafia @Texas_Slam @matt @bassinboy01 @lovemore @dgrabe217
    45. Swamp Mafia 0
I don't think the 4/0 has the line Capacity for running baits out far. 6/0 would be the smallest I would use. I have 2- 9/0's with penn mariner standup rods ...more for sharks.
    46. holden_adams 0
      Thanks @SwampMafia
    47. holden_adams 0
Ok @SwampMafia and ya off the beach @lovemore I was looking at the penn 4/0,6/0 and penn squalls and I wish I could get avet there too much for the one I want how ...more much was your avet.
    48. jacob jacob 0
      Message me @holden_adams
    49. jacob jacob 0
If u go avet and ur targeting big sharks u want to go 500 yards out in which case u probably want a 50w or 80w
    50. jacob jacob 0
Off the beach? For a longer fun fight go penn. If u wanna just get the fish in go avet. Also depends on how much u want to spend
    51. Swamp Mafia 0
Would be good for reds and sharks. A big shark may spool a red fish rod and you may not know you have a red on a shark rod.
    52. Swamp Mafia 0
Med size conventional reel or a 6k-8k spinner for reds. 6/0-9/0-12/0 for big sharks. I have pulled 40+" bull reds to the beach with out knowing they were on ...more with a shark rod. I don't think one set up
    53. holden_adams 0
      😂 @MulletHead
    54. Gabe Mitchell 0
I'd never take tackle advice from a guy who spends more on gas to get to the surf than his equipment is worth. @matt
    55. holden_adams 0
      Thanks @matt
    56. Matt Dobson 0
You need something that holds a lot of line 500yds 30lb minimum, has a clicker, and has a STURDY drag. After that just make sure your friends 'fix' them ...more for you. @MulletHead
    57. holden_adams 0
Thanks guys ! Sorry for all the post and questions just wanted a couple more opinions before I buy one. @bassinboy01 @matt @Texas_Slam @dgrabe217
    58. Matt Dobson 0
Guess I'm going to have to try an avet. Have used penns which work great, but eventually lost various parts. Probably my fault for not keeping them up. @dgrabe217
    59. Texas_Slam 0
What @bassinboy01 said. You cannot find a reel like an avet. They're sealed so sand won't go in them and are oiled up like a bikini model. Just a great reel.
    60. Jacob Breaux 0
Between my three types of reels, if I had to change them all to one, it'd be my Avet MXL MC. Dream of a reel. Already scheming my next setup, and you can bet ...more the reel will be an MXL MC
    61. dgrabe217 0
I believe many people like Avet 30w. These people might have more to add @bassinboy01 @matt @MulletHead @teamhardlife @SwampMafia @mredus8
    62. Texas_Slam 0
      Avets baby.
