With this relatively warm fall we've had, I decided to give kayak fishing one more shot over Thanksgiving break. Ice is forming on all the shallow ponds but the larger, deeper lakes are still open. I stumbled upon the best bass fishing I've had all year; most were small, but I did manage to stick this fat 19 incher on a jerkbait, along with a surprise 26 inch pike. It definitely put my new St. Croix spinning rod to the test!
