I caught this guy just as it was getting dark on a tip up. The best way I've found for tip up fishing for burbot is to use a single treble hook, and put one minnow on each hook point (three total). I place a split shot a foot or two up the line, and then let the entire rig lay right on the bottom. After it hits bottom I let out a couple more feet.

    1. Whenever you want to come catch stripers let me know. They should be here very soon in the salt. And the Hybrids should be starting this month and through the rest ...more of the year I get em. I have a camper we can park right at the Lake and have a blast for a week or 2.

Great tips Tim! I'm going to try to improve my tactics when it comes to Burbot next year, only tried once this year and struck out!
