I haven't fished the reservoir in many years. Is there still a good bass population there? I used to catch some nice largemouths.

  I've been catching some nice ones in the reservoir. A lot of small ones but still fun to catch. Caught 2 yesterday about 17".

  i fish the allegany from portville to allegany, and the smallmouth are doing very well up here.....

  not so much for largemouth but you will find some monsters here and there around the back bay areas and island points. What we do have is a nice and healthy population ...more of smallmouths. The smallmouth fishing is excellent both in the reservoir and in the Allegany River itself.
