Yesterday a guy hooked up on a 30+ inch pike that hit a tungston jig tipped with a waxworm. It was at least a 10 minute fight on two pound test. To bad he couldn't ...more turn it at the hole before the line broke. The nose was on one side of the 8 inch hole and the gill plate was at the other.
On the other hand I nailed 200+ small bluegills, several 8+, 10 inch smallmouth and a enough perch for a fishfry. Tipups were useless.
