If it’s not the heat, it’s the cold. Summer just can’t make up its mind. Couple weeks ago we were hit with a massive heat wave and a week ago we are hit with a ...more massive cold front. Everything kind of slowed way down this last week and its finally looking like its turning around again. The last couple days we have had some more reports come in of people catching some fish. of course carp and suckers are always a little easier to catch, and they stayed pretty consistent. White bass and crappies are starting to pick up, and so are the smallmouth. Walleyes have even shown their faces on the river. Anglers are reporting walleye catches early and late in the day on the sand bars. Jig and a minnow has been the best producer casting, while trolling has also worked. Catfish are still going strong. Water level is just about right in the river and everything is starting to turn on. Get down here and fish. Good Luck!!!
