Started fishing at 530 am in the dark with blue/white buzzbait. Caught 3 nice bass over 4 lbs, then the bite slowed to a crawl. At around 715a.m. I decided to pack ...more up my gear and head to the house. Then, like always, i threw one last cast into a log jam in about 3 feet of water. I gave my plastic craw worm a few twitches, then I thought I had snagged a tree limb underwater. So I jerk my rod to try to free the hook, and that's when I knew I had something very big on the hook. When she jumped out of the water, I nearly fainted. It was the biggest bass I'd ever seen in all my 25+ years of fishing! I fought it for at least 5 mins and almost lost the fish twice. I had no net, so I had to lay face first in the mud to land it. It was 26" and weighed 11lb 3oz!!!! I thought about keeping it to have it mounted, but I let her go so maybe someone else can get lucky and catch her some day.
