Thank you. Its gonna be Hot and if the Power company is not generating water, I remember frm the BFL Regionsl yrs ago, tht the fish in the river shut down. Will ...more see Sunday.

Greg, I’m not sure. sorry. I have a lift on my dock and rarely use public launch. I do know there are two public launches off stutts road.

Mark, I use only. 2/0 hook. It’s super easy to maneuver flip, skip, etc under docks. It stays close to the top so after an initial twitch upon hitting the water ...more I use a slight (double twitch/ then pause technique) for about 3-5 feet. If I haven’t caught one by then, I’m not going to and I retrieve it back. Once the water warms, I switch to shaky head worm rig. They are still coming up for the flukes right now. Smoking shad BY FAR the best color. Baby bass a distant second. This one was caught in shade about 6 feet off shore under a pine tree overhang.

How do you prefer fishing the fluke? Are you fishing it on top of the water or are you dead sticking it?

Holdsclaw Creek and is McCrary Creek Access area Public?

Bass tend to be bigger on north end, there’s more largemouth there, and more cover. I usually catch as many or more ‘real’ largemouth on the north end, while in ...more the south where I spend most time, it’s a special occasion when you land one.

Heading up this weekend to research the lake. Does anyone fish the upper river end towards the upper dam? Is it worth making tht long run frm the lower dam end?
    8. Kevin Rose 0
Yes, weightless. Absolutely must be rigged correctly, once it starts rolling...change it out. Only .40 cents apiece or so.

Just fishing the Fluke weightless like a jerkbait?

  5. This is the largest spotted bass I have caught on Lake Norman. I should have weighed it. Didn't realize its size till I looked later. Literally my 3rd cast.
