And so it begins... Boat is out of the shop, and water is finally warming up. Game on.
Well it warmed up this week, LOL. We’re no longer in the 20’s, but got drenched with 2-3 inches of rain in about a day. Longing for some summertime smallies in the ...more river. :)
Nice beasty caught right at dusk last October on one of my last outings of the year. Always fun to hook a fighter like this. :)
Took the daughter’s boyfriend fishing and picked up something big on the fish finder… thought it was probably a carp, but he caught this bad boy. Did not want to ...more come up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger catfish from the Willamette river. I’m sure they’re in there, but people usually just catch small ones. Made his day! :)
My big one from last year; just over 4lbs. Pretty big for an Oregon bass. I’ve only caught a couple bigger here. That was a fun one… tore up my spinner bait.
By late February in Western Oregon it’s often busting out into warmer days (not really warm but warmer). By the time we hit March, it’s spring here… not so this ...more year. While we did have some record highs in the high 60’s early in February which gave me hope, we are now having record lows in the 20’s. :O Cursed groundhog!
