1. Details: 2 lb. 18.0 in. Channel Catfish with a blood dip bait

  2. I'm looking to do some night-time catfishing on Fox Chain O'lakes in Illinois but have no idea where overnight access is permitted for bank fishing. Most ...more of the shoreline looks like private property. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I've mostly been looking at Pistakee lake as Channel Cats seem to be the dominant fish in that one.

Circle hook and hot dogs along edge of weeds. I've tried 'proper' baits numerous time but for some reason had the best luck with hot dogs on this lake. ...more /shrug

Not terribly common here and locating them is a pain. Time of day, temp, and location are very important on this lake. I'm careful not to keep everything I catch ...more or too often due to the low population, just enough for 1 meal for the family roughly 6 times a year. I'd say I get a good one like this about every 5-6 trips though.
    2. how frequently do u catch these here?

I've tried a lot of baits. cut bait, prepared bait, etc. so far only had luck with hot dogs pieces on a large circle hook.
