I grew up fishing with my Daddy. I was the only girl with 2 older brothers, and I by far out ranked them as a fisher woman early on. (Don't ...more ask them. They will deny that known fact obviously) I stopped fishing for the most part in 2013, to help my Dad take care of my Mom as often as possible since her health had been declining for years. My whole world fell apart in January 2014 when my Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. For two years he fought so hard, but he went to be with the Lord in July 2016. He left me his boat and until this year it sat with cover on it. I just couldn't. Finally decided to make him proud, husband and I got her all tuned up and have just been out on Lake Weatherford practicing. Time to get serious now! Any help you great fishermen and women can give us on where to go is greatly appreciated! Oh, and by the way, my friends gave me the name Fishing Barbie. Not because I'm Barbie, too dang old for that, but because I always get fixed up before heading out to fish. I always joked that I had to be prepared if the paparazzi showed up! Lol! My dream is to meet Mark Zona and KVD one day! Mark is the male version of me with his sense of humor and KVD? Well, he's just a Fishing God! I still have my Momma here with me and she is the Diva of her full time care facility and is thriving! My Daddy is with me always. His boat, his favorite fishing pole he called "Big Red" is always on the boat and his favorite cigars in the glove box. He was my first love, and my forever love.
Sure could use a new fish finder and trolling motor as his are kinda old, they work, but just older and in need of upgrades. His Champion Boat is immaculate! Still in perfect condition as he always took great care of his things.
God Bless and Happy Fishing!
