I got a browning combo for $80 at basspro, but I'm about to buy a longer rod. Check out my highlight reel for the combo I just started using. It's not to ...more shabby...

I'm still partial to Garcia (Abu). Bought my first one in March 1965. Still using it. Now own seven.

I have no experience with that rig but did use Shakespeare brand extensively in my youth some 50 yrs ago. They made a good product then.

  3. Any good bait casting rods for under 100? I've looked at some Shakespeare's and Abu Garcia's that seem okay, but is there something better in my price ...more range?

    1. mason Schrock 0
Either a bass pro shops extreme baitcaster (79.99$) or a blue max baitcaster (I believe the combo is under 80$)
    2. Texas_Slam 0
Yeah the Laguna combo is nice. I landed a 35uch bullred on it with 17 pound test.
    3. nickway17 0
@Texas_Slam I was talking about combos, as in like you buy the rod and reel together.
    4. Texas_Slam 0
Ohhhh I thought you needed a reel...but castaway rods go for 79.99$ and don't break. Look into them they're all I use and I still rinse my rods after freshwater ...more use.
    5. nickway17 0
@Texas_Slam I'm going to be using it in freshwater, would I still new to wash it like I would wash my other rods after saltwater use?
    6. Texas_Slam 0
Diawa laguna is good...just wash it after trips
