  4. Question for all? I see the post of crappie on here all the time a lot of people think a crappie is a black crappie if its dark. Two things are diff # fins and ...more head shape, correct???

Ok I was told by an older crappie expert that ya count the fins to be sure. This man was in his 80's and still walking the creeks with the best of us

White crappie have distinct vertical stripes along their sides, black crappie are randomly speckled. Both can appear dark or light, but as far as I now that's ...more the easiest difference to identify.
