Can't go wrong with live shrimp. Tearing of the head to increase the scent trail works great too.

Brothers cat @swampmafia what do u suggest for running water cats in front of and behind? Live on. The buffalo bayou in houston?

    1. Swamp Mafia 0
I have caught big gar on both, so I don't think one is better than the other. Use what ever you can get first.
    2. holdenn 0
Ok thx 1 more thing sorry what do u thinks better @SwampMafia
    3. Swamp Mafia 0
Yes the Houston area, as for carp, try to find an Asian market, or fiesta. I never buy it, I catch it or shoot it.
    4. holdenn 0
Also where could I buy some carp or would I hav to catch them ? @SwampMafia
    5. holdenn 0
      Thx @SwampMafia r u from houston to
    6. Swamp Mafia 0
for gator gar i have used big mullet(12"+) and cut carp/buffalo. Steel leader and big "J" hooks. I Bowfish for them more than I R&R for them.
    7. holdenn 0
Thx @SwampMafia an what about gar mullet an shad idk
    8. Swamp Mafia 0
I'm a big fan if live perch for big cats, but any number of cut baits and commercially available stink/dough baits will work well for eating size cats.
