    Does anyone fish Lookout Shoals? I went on 04/25/2021, and caught one spot. That was my first time on Lookout, and there were 13 mph winds so I did not expect to ...more do well. I would like to get into the Red ears, any advice? I do have a boat, however like to fish from shore as well. Any advice would be appreciated.

      I have fished Lookout several times. I usually stick with Lake Hickory and Lake Norman just because there are marinas for bait and the water is cleaner. Lookout ...more Shoals is smaller, narrow and shallow. As the name implies, lot of shoals. On the good side, there are several fish attractors sunk in there and marked with buoys, There are also some grassy coves and a lot of lay downs that have fallen in the water. Upper end is very shallow with large boulders under water. Lower end is deeper with mostly catfish and bass. I have caught a few stripers in the upper end. Everything in there likes live bait. Not done as well with lures.
