Maybe 6lb. We lost a huge one when we weren't ready for it. It beached and the line rubbed a rock hard. We just recently got a Jon boat for the bigger Flats.

Good luck sir, bluegill works great. We have caught good fish with bluegill cut bait. The Flatheads are out though almost everywhere.
