Fat Spotted Bass, posted as lmb first but I think I was mistaken.

Shawn Gearinger 0Not positive about that one. The spots do have the red eyes. I will ask a local marine biologist here. The Florida strain LMB that they breed with the local bass ...more here don't have the red eyes, (just looking at my old pics). I have never really looked to be sure but I will now. I have noticed that bass look different depending on what area of the country they come from, the water clarity, amount of vegetation in the water, depth the fish was living at time they were caught. Great catch either way!

Chris Williams 0Thanks Shawn. the red eyes are what made me think it wasn't a lmb. it my understanding, correct me if I'm wrong, but only the hybrid lmb would have red eyes.

Shawn Gearinger 0Looks like a spot. Best way to tell is look/feel the tongue, LMB the tongue is smooth, and on a spot there will be a rough patch right in the middle. You can feel ...more it and see it. Nice fish!
