    I was just getting my line wet to fish for trout. Got about three cast in and thought my crank got snagged till the line started to move. Was thinking maybe a catfish ...more or a sturgeon. I was in my yak and this thing drags me around the river for a good 30 minutes. Was using a ultralight with 4lb test. Glad I got good gear and fresh line this thing was huge. I guess at least 15lbs. Couldn't even get the whole fish in the pic. Heck of a fight and this would be my biggest fish caught so far this year.

    The last few times I've been fishing the Caney I have caught almost exclusively brook trout. Last year I think I caught maybe one or two but now it seems the ...more Caney is chocked full of them. I love it, brookies are fierce fighters.

    Water temp. 63 degrees.Caught in 6-10 ft slow drifting a Fin commander slab curly blue w/chartreuse on a 1/8 oz double cross jig. Limited out.

Hello everyone, my name is Les..I'm from Westwego Louisiana just across the river from New Orleans. I've been living in Hartsville Tennessee ...more for almost 11 years. Absolutely love fishing. Being from the Gulf Coast area spent a lot time fishing inshore saltwater, mainly specks and reds. As much as I miss home I've grown to love Tennessee and all the great fisheries in my area. Most of my 11 years here in Tennessee I targeted big blue and flathead catfish. Just this year though I discovered trout fishing in the Caney Fork River and have become totally hooked. I look forward to sharing my catch with everyone.
