When my youngest son was 8 he said he was finally ready to go fishing but not on the boat. So we walked down to subdivision pond. There were several ponds but this ...more one had a small stream. I expected us to down and catch couple hand sized perch. The sign said any fish caught are to be thrown back. No problem right? So he had hand me down Zebco and we were going to use can corn and a bobber. He said no he wanted to use shiny spoon as he thought fish would see that better. So we throw out the bobber and spoon. He sat down on tiny pier when he got hit that almost pulled him in. I immediately thought catfish as was not a strike. I had to help him pull itt in and I could not believe it when 5 lb bass broke surface. No way was i going to let him losse that so together we struggled with that little Zebco and got that beautiful fish to shore. It was easy 5 lbs and he was thrilled. I deliberately left my cell home as people from work drive me crazy, so no picture. People driving by stopped and some blew horns. I told him we had to let him go and we did. He said dad its okay, as I didn't want to catch a daddy fish anyway lol. The problem was he was spoiled after that. He would go down to that pond and not get a nibble using his bobber and spoon lol. Money could not buy that moment. Now's he's 23 and too busy to go fishing but that's okay, I have my memories. :)
You got that right my friend, a smile on my childrens face is priceless. @Noah Shapiro
