Saw several smallies surface at the point of candlewood shores, but couldn't get them to bite. Tried a Zara spook, a crankbait, a spinnerbait, and a finesse ...more worm. Any tips?
Thanks for the advice John, and congrats on starting your own business. Next time I go shopping for a bunch of worms I'll check them out. Also, great name for ...more a fishing supply company, can't believe no one had that already.
Hi Kevin, the smallmouth are schooling a bit deeper off the points, 15-20 ft of water. Topwater can be successful early in the morning, but once the sun comes over ...more the horizon, and the skiboats hit the lake, I've found that topwater lures don't work nearly as well. I fish drop shot almost exclusively after 7 or 8 am. Try a 4" worm, in green or brown. My brother and I just started our own business, and so I have to tout our product, http://lurelaboratories.com/. I wouldn't lead you there if we didn't keep catching bass!
