  2. Correct me if I'm wrong but a guy at work told me this was a brown. All the cuts I've seen and caught have the red behind the gill and are darker green color

    Brown

that's how cuts looks like at strawberry.
    2. Sterling Poulson 0
      It's a cutthroat
    3. Morgan Lindstrom 0
Awesome thanks man! I searched forever on the Internet and couldn't figure it out! I appreciate it!

that is definitely a beautiful Bear Lake Cutthroat trout. The cutt has orange underfins like this one and is very prevalent in Strawberry. Another key trademark ...more of a Cutt is reddish/ orange slash like markings under the jaw where your thumb is. A brown has dark chocolate spots and a golden belly so this is not a brown. To my knowledge there are no browns in Strawberry.

Saw a guy catch two on power bait, two on spinners and an older guy was using an orange Jig on a 8" liter with a fly rod with a bubble at the top. Super confused ...more but he caught one.

1 lb. 12 in. Brown Trout with a Rocky Mountain Tackle

      Is there any ice there
    2. Morgan Lindstrom 0
The light is hitting it right on the gill making it look like a cut, but it's a brown. We actually caught 4 of them. Usually all we catch is cuts. We caught ...more 4 Browns and a salmon. I was actually shocked at how we caught them it was by accident then changed our depth and slammed them for 20 min.

    4. Dan Sampson 0
yeah, you're right. on second look it is a slot cutt.
    5. Colby Livingston 0

Nice Catch!! A brown trout catch at the berry doesn't happen all that often.
