It was on the ...more Friday of that weekend that I will never forget. While I was pond fishin, a buddy of mine showed up with his johnboat and wanted to take me out and do some fishin. I loaded up all my stuff and we hit the water. I had a lot of tackle with me and my phone so I could get some good fishin pics of me and my fishin buddy. We had anchored down the boat in a good spot and caught some nice bass. After catchin a few fish,we decided to move to another spot. This is where my fishin world got turned upside down, Literally. The boat was anchored on the front and the back. I was in the back and had raised my anchor. My buddy had to lean forward to raise his. When he did, he lost his balance and the boat overturned. After I realized what had just happened, I realized I had just lost a lot of fishin tackle. Boxes of tackle gone that I will never be able to replace. Lures that my dad had given me. Even simpler things like hooks and weights were gone. I don't have the funds to replace all the tackle I lost let alone the hooks and weights. I also realized I had just lost the most important thing that I had with me that day. My cell phone. It had very important videos of my family and kids. My kids with their fish pics and many many years of other fishin related pics that I can never replace. I couldn't hold back my tears when it happened and I lost it right in front of my fishin buddy. Only I knew what I had just lost. I still bank fish there and I look across the water in that area we had turned the boat over and get that sick feelin in my stomach. Even now as I write this, I have that sick feelin of the personal things that I lost that day. That is the only day that I wish I would have stayed home and not gone fishin.
