About

I have been out fishing since I was 3 months old... from what I understand is that Uncle Johhny held me on his leg and helped me feel in a small ...more Batray... of course my memories are a little vague! First photo I remember seeing of us fishing was me sitting on top of big Batray off of the Rocks at Long Beach harbor in California. Seems all of my good memories evolve fishing, crabbing, claiming or something else to do with fishing... and then we moved to Oregon and found Nirvana! In 1968, I walked down to the Nehalem River in Vernonia with a big white jig hanging under a bobber and people laughed... some old man said, "boy... You stupid or something? You have to use that setup down at the Mill pond!" It was a cold snowy day as I stood just below the head water of a big pool... and I cast! The rest you may say is history... A third of the way through the drift the bobber dissappears and as I set the hook, the water exploded... A little while longer and a nice Native Steelhead laid at my feet. Through the years, many more Steelhead and Salmon have graced my dinner plate....and that is why I love fishing, especially in the freezing cold of Winter, with a Jig under a bobber or with Blue Fox Spinners.
