Went fishing with a couple of good friends to Horsethief Lake which is about 3 miles past Mt. Rushmore and caught a few rainbow trout on lures and garlic power bait, ...more the trout were between 12 and 13 inches.

Glad that you were able to catch some fish, how is the ice since we have had all this warm weather?

Well, it was still 11"-13" across the lake as of Sunday morning, but there was a lot of top melting going on. I was kneeling in an inch of water easily ...more at every hole I fished after 1pm. Lots of top water across the lake. I think the Rooster is advising people to stay off the ice in lower elevation lakes until this weekend once it gets colder.
