If it's too hot when you do go, try hitting the sticks that stick out of the water, I did that when I went to Falcon and landed a couple of good 3 pounders just by hitting the sticks with a Gary Yamamoto Senko, or anything like a 4 or 5 inch watermelon red worm will work
