1. God gives us all a lot more than fish.

  2. The fish was 44 inches and caught about 1 hour before high tide. We where using a cum block, dripping menhaden oil and fishing with live eels and spot.

  5. The weekend of June 6th and 7th 2014, I fished the Lower Chesapeake Bay from Ingram Bay (near reedville va,) to Smith Point. There were several bait pods surfacing, ...more being chased by small rock fish near the Fleet Point lighted buoy. Went to the entrance of the Little Wicomico River at Smith Point and fished the rocks and caught several rock fish in the 14" to 16" range. All released but good solid action and a lot of fun. Cast 3" grubs to the rocks and cranked them fast. Drifted with blood worms and caught several small croaker and a few speckled trout about 12".
Just getting familiar with the Lower Bay and the different techniques of saltwater fishing. I'm a rookie at this type of fishing and would grateful for any feed back.
Fishing again the weekend of the July 4th and will post after. Fish On.

About

I grew up fishing at a very young age. Mostly pursuing Smallies in the South Fork of the Shenandoah River, a few miles south of Front Royal Va. ...more I moved to Central Florida in the early 1980's and tournament fished for Largemouth and enjoyed the spectacular Crappie fishing, which in Fla. they call Specks. I now reside in Fauquier County Va. and for the last several years I have only concentrated on Crappie fishing in my spare time. (a great eating fish) However, a family member recently purchased a home on the Lower Chesapeake Bay in Reedville Va. I've been going there every other weekend since the early spring of this year and really starting to get into saltwater fishing. Any advise or tips from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Good Fishing To All.
