My dad took me on my first fishing trip at the age of 4. We bought our first boat when I was 5. At 8 years I was driving the boat and by 12 I ...more was backing the boat in the water. Growing up in Houston I started saltwater fishing and got exposed to fresh water fishing when I moved to north Louisiana to attend Grambling and was to far from the coast to salt water fish. I fished my first bass tournament in 1985 while stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C. from a rented jon boat on base. It was on that day that I knew I could compete in bass tournaments.
