I fish Contra Loma several times a year, as there are massive Lmouth Bass here. Fished it two weeks ago, and easily had a 24 lb. bag. My experience has been the ...more average size of bass here is 4 lb. The park rangers tell me of 15 lb. bass being caught every other month, and have seen much larger bass cruising the shorelines.
Fished the entrance to Dutch Slough right on the rock point, across from Big Break (CA Delta) the 28th, and 29th of Sept. Caught massive amount of 2+ lb. bass, with ...more two kicker fish to 6 lbs. Lots of Stripers in the area as well. I was using speed traps in red/blk, and blue/chrome, both stripers and lgmouth Bass were hitting both colors equally.
