Tks both of you. Prob go on weekday next week or two. Curtis mark is in that L shaped lake that borders Kings Hwy. Does the ranger shack have a paper map showing ...more all the lakes? Being these are strip pit mines do all the lakes have ledges and deep water? With that I' ll shut up and just go fishin. Tks guys been a big help. I'm total catch and release no worries.

I marked the spot where I caught the biggest of the 6 bass. I wasn't in a kayak though. I was in my 14ft Jon boat

It is not crystal lake. U must have fished butler tract. It is adjacent to cane lake and chuckatuck creek which both are brackish. Were u in a kayak today? If so, ...more I saw you. I fished the southern lakes and butler this morning before work. Only caught 3 small fish. They didn't cooperate for me. Good job Curtis.

that the one that looks shallow. looks connected to river and brackish. One of those lakes is brackish. The ramp looks on the Crane side then you crossover.

Thanks! Sure I will tell you which lake. I have always called it Crystal Lake but looking online at google maps it doesnt give it a name. It is between Butler ...more Tract and Crane. Steep ramp but not too bad.

Nice job Curtis! Thinking about going down. Rangers said sunrise to sunset and every lake has a ramp. Said Fingers Lake you need 4WD steep ramp. Heard Crane sucks. ...more Willing to share what lake these were in? If not I understand.

  2. Details: Hot Spot for Largemouth

Excellent depth and structures. Watch out for "flying" striped mullet (Thanks Jr.) in the summer.

Awesome! I thought they were carp because I kept seeing them in the water and assumed they were what was popping top so much. Or at least I thought I was seeing ...more carp in the water. Thats what they looked like but I could only see but so much.
    2. Jr Ruggiero 0
They do not have flying carp. They are striped mullet that you see occasionally jumping.

  3. Here is one of mine. I am not holding it as close to the camera as Mike!

  4. Went Bass fishing at Lone Star Lakes in Suffolk, VA and hooked into a few decent fish. Here are a couple of pics of me and my buddy Mike.

  5. Vacationed in Shenandoah in August on the South Shenandoah River. Canoeing the river was great. Smallmouth and bluegill were nearly jumping in the boat. My buddy ...more Mike caught a pretty large catfish on my ultralight spinning rig using a white Rooster Tail. The catfish took off up river and I had to paddle my heart out after it in order for him to land it. My collapsable net worked great!

  6. Just bought a new 14' Jon Boat and Trailer. Gonna deck it out over the next couple of weekends and put a couple motors on it (trolling and gas). Look out fish.
