A few from Lake Allatoona today 4/27 with Firstbite. Good job Capt Ronnie.
Today Ronnie and I fished another double with Chad, Carrie, Kevin, Kathy, Sam and Jake on Carters. The bite is starting to change a little. The down line bite has ...more been very slow for the last two weeks. But today both of our crews caught some very nice stripers 30 feet deep over a 60 foot bottom. The debris wasn't near as bad today as earlier this week.
A few from today.

The lake is coming ALIVE !! There has been some good reports from both the north end and south end of the lake this week for good numbers of Hybrids, Stripers and White Bass. The better bite has been on small gizzards and thread fins fished on free lines and planner board. Both ends of the lake are holding decents numbers. The south end of the lake seems to be better for Hybrids. While the north end of the lake seems to be fishing better for stripers and white bass. I look for most of the fish to migrate north in the next few days and start staging for their annual spawn run. Spring is here and it's time to get back to fishing. Dust of the tackle charge the batteries and grab a kid and head to the lake... The bite has started.....
The bite on Carters has been decent. You're not going to boat a ton of stripers this time of year. But the ones we are catching are guilty fish. The free line ...more and planner board bite is starting to show signs of turning on. And the down line bite remains steady. The fish are scatter and can be caught almost anywhere on the lake right now. We have been fishing half way back into the main creeks. Worley, Camp Branch and Woodring are all holding fish right now. Finding big schools of bait is the key right now. There is also a decent bite on the main lake. Secondary points and holding stripers and massive schools of spots right now. I look for this bite to remain steady until we start seeing a shad kill.
If your wanting to catch a wall hanger then the time is now. I still have plenty of dates open for January and February. Give me a call at 770 827-6282 and let's go catch the fish of your dreams....

Line side fishing is Slow !!. The bite on Allatoona is almost non existent. Over 90% of the lake is muddy or heavily stain. The water temps are in the upper thirties to the low forties and the lake is starting to show signs of a shad kill. Catching numbers of line sides right now is just not going to happen. But there's a chance to boat a really big fish right now, if you're willing to devote the time. The key to catching fish right now is to find clear water. .There is clear to lightly stain water from Allatoona Landing to Redtop. This is the best water on the lake right now. This section of the lake is holding fish but getting to eat is challenging. Our better bite has been coming on spoons and urigs. The bigger fish are more out to eat Shad and trout fished on planner boards and free lines. But these bites are very few and far between.
The bite has been so slow that I have been moving all of my Allatoona trips to Carters Lake,,,,,, Lake Allatoona just doesn't have a bite I am willing to put the Firstbite name to right now..... Hopefully the bite will pick up soon soon....
