  5. El Capitan has been better than ever the past 2 years putting out 30+ pound bags of bass. Large Crankbaits and dropshot have won a large amount of these events. ...more The north end of the lake is a great place to start. Focus on rocky points or rock piles off shore.

  6. Lake Cuyamaca is hidden gem if there ever was one. This lake rivals all big bass lakes during the spring. Any given spring there are dozens of double digit fish ...more being pulled out. This small trout fishery is the reason these bass get so big. Sight fishing seems to be best but swimbaits always do damage.

  7. Lake Hodges has been great the past few years despite the rumors. The Crankbait and spinnerbait bite has been good first thing in the morning. Concentrate on rocky ...more shorelines with any visible bait. Key patterns are up tight and parallel to the bank. I personally like the Jackall Bling Crankbait in shad type color. The mid day bite has also been decent by putting out big quality Bass. The Technique of choice during this time is flipping. Make sure to have heavy line preferably braid. I like Power Pro Green 65lb test.
