Did not catch this, but this was about 45" sitting 6" under the surface.
There are big boys in here. Caught a 30" the same day on topwater clacker
Out for the last couple of days. Saturday morning fished with kids, caught a nice mixed bag of panfish and perch using bimbo skinks and Dick Smiths Panfish grubs ...more tipped with live bait. Gills went for waxies, but perch all came on panfish leeches. All the better fish were close to the bottom in 18-22FOW.
Switched over mid morning for bass, caught a handful of LM on jigworms and skirted grubs before the boats and heat chased us.
Back at this morning. Hit some spots where we saw baitfish schooled up yesterday, and had a solid run of topwater fish (SM+LM) from Sun-up until about 8:30, then moved out and worked primary structure and got on a working pattern until we pulled out at 11:30 or so.
Nothing huge either day, but action was steady (if a bit slow for periods)
Love this lake, can't wait to fish it more. So many little secondaries to learn/work/catch fish on.
Fishing early or late in the day is suggested due to the heavy recreational boat traffic. Look for largemouth, Northern Pike, Walleye, muskie, Bluegill and Crappie.
