  2. Details: White Crappie with a Rattletrap

Last day in Rusk, had to end on a big one! Sucks I couldn't be a big bass before the end, but all these crappie made up for it!

  3. Details: Black Crappie with a Rattletrap

The pond I normally fish has been over run by crappie! Caught about 50 of them slow working a rattle trap. The one on my left was a pound and a half and the one ...more on my right was one pound

  4. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Shad color deep diving crank bait

    * this wasn't actually caught on Rusk state park, it was on a family owned lake* I was out around the middle of the lake where an old dam use to be, reeling ...more in my crank bait pretty hard and just letting it hit along the bottom and pausing every few seconds to let it rise up some. After I let it rise and started reeling again this guy took it. Put up a big fight and even went under the boat!

I've never even thought about using them for bass. Might have to give it a try sometime! That's pretty cool how they're so versatile

@bassinboy01 thanks my friend. It has been a while. These corky and fatboys I bought for saltwater. Just had to give them a try. Worked out well once I found the ...more fish. The bite was VERY aggressive!!

  6. Details: Largemouth Bass with a bone corky

Bought some Corkys for Christmas. Can't get to the bay so tried them out on some East Texas Green Trout.

Makes sense. Next we'll have to try crappie on a spec rig!

Couldn't run the rattle trap, not enough water over the hydrilla. Also wanted to catch something on the corky!! Worked out fairly well. The corky sinks slow, ...more gave me enough time to work the bait.

  7. Details: Largemouth Bass with a chug bug

Bass with almost no lower jaw. Caught in 4' of water over grass. Lets all practice catch and release if appropriate. This bass was glad we did.

@bassinboy01 That's true. Didn't look at it like that.
    2. Robert Robert 0
I've seen that video too @bassinboy01
    3. Jacob Breaux 0
Weird catch! @HunterNeill In the case of managing a small lake or pond, keeping dozens of smaller fish is better for the health of a quality fishery than releasing ...more every fish you catch.
    4. Hunter Neill 0
@Redsrbetter I agree with your last comment. I see pictures of 20+ bass on a stringer to be cleaned but who really needs all that? Let them reproduce and keep the ...more bass population healthy.
    5. Justin G 0
I can barely even tell what's what on the bass' head... Holy cow
