    Dusk, just off the main current of the Contocook River flowing into the Merrimack River; slow retrieve along a rock field, hooked in about 8 feet of water; 74 degrees, ...more clear skies, beautiful still evening.

    River is high after rains, slow retrieve, hooked close to shore, current stronger than usual, 6:30 PM; 3 pounds, 18 inches, released to be caught another day.
