  6. Well, they are still catching fish at different spots along the oceanfront. Most of the fishermen are catching a lot of small stripers and the occasional “keeper”. ...more Yesterday, Joe Blazo from the “North End” of Boston weighed in a nice little 10 pounder caught at PL#3 on the Refuge using worms. This was Joe’s first striper fishing trip and was very excited to catch his first keeper and looking forward to a great dinner! His friends called it “beginner’s luck”! Bonus, you get to see his mug twice!!! Bob sent his picture into Stickman, he was so happy for his friend!!!

  7. The refuge gates were open this am. Officer Chris from the refuge called and told us that the gates are open and all activities will resume as of today. That means ...more walk-ons, drive-on, night fishing, etc.!!! Get on down here and fish. As you saw from Stickman's post yesterday there are still fish around. A lot of small ones and some of the cows like the picture showed yesterday. So again word is that the gates are open..............................for now. Who knows for how long until the next shutdown so get fishing!!!

Craig from Surfland sent this picture in a on Tuesday the 15th

"Incoming tide, evening, against rocks out front. Small but plenty of fish. Small jigs. Nothing on surface plugs"

  8. Even though the Parker River Wildlife Refuge beach is closed for the present time, there is more than that for beachfront fishing area. And like we have posted the ...more past few weeks, Craig from Surfland and his family members have been walking the beach from near parking lot 1 north to the center. And, here is some proof: Here is Ben Aham from yesterday afternoon. He and dad walked the beach and Ben caught this fish right next to the rocks out front of them (they live near the refuge!). Bass assassin and a 1/2 ounce white Billy Page jig head! Way to go little fisherman!!! So, get your light tackle out again and do some walking and casting. The beach doesn’t stop or start at the gate!!!!

  9. The tuna bite from last week out at the outside flag took a dip in action probably due to the moon phase. Guys were marking but just couldn't get the hook-ups ...more which is common leading up to the full moon. now that we are getting past it the fish will have a little more hunger during the day this week. The Outside Flag continues to be the hot spot and don't be surprised if you see any of the guys from wicked tuna out there including the new boat "Hot Tuna".......

Ground fishing for Haddock has continued to be very productive. Our charter on sunday went home with a ton of fillets from out at the curl. Like most days we did throw back a lot of shorts but still found some nice keepers in the mix.

The bait has continued to hang around this area with a dealers choice of herring, mackeral, and whiting. The herring have actually overflowed from their deep water into breaking rock. I had multiple anglers report catching them right at the can.

Striper are still hitting pretty good in Hampton Harbor and along the beach front, however they are travelling in tight schools requiring some searching around most days so stay mobil and once you find them stay on top of the school.
