    Son caught his first and second walleye while we were getting the boat out of the water. Caught a lot of crappie and blue gill during the day.

    Finally got three gars. I'm curious how they taste like so I fileted two of them. The backstraps look good and I know their eggs are toxic.

      I boiled these backstraps in pieces and dipped them with seafood sauce. Gar meat is like a chunk of crabmeat with the texture of lobster. It doesn't taste like ...more fish meat and is boneless.

    Planned to catch those gars in this small pond cause they have been eating my plastic leeche like gum. However the nylon line method didn't work. Casted a few ...more rapala got a channel cat. Then I gave it to a Mexican family fishing beside us didn't measure though.
