1. Alright hopefully someone has some advice. I need suggestions for a good release for my down rigger. All lake trolling and such with live bait but would like to ...more run some spoons and other lures as well. Thanks everyone

Yea that was definitely the case. Trolling small live baits was fine but once I went to a spoon I couldn't get it to stay clipped for the life of me. Thats my ...more biggest issue I just feel like I'm guessing when using the pad style release.

We pull everything from live baits to wahoo/marlin size lures on the blacks.

Your line gets chafed by the pad style and the tension is not right.

I really like the design of the blacks release over the cannon rubber pad clothes pin design which is currently driving me crazy. I think I'm going to go ahead ...more and order one up and give it a go. Seems to be a lot less wondering than hoping I seated the line in deep enough but not too far and so on. Thanks for the help!

I've used them in salt and freshwater. We use them on our outriggers, kites, flat line clips and downriggers

Black's release clips. Simple, adjustable and almost indestructible.
