Went to church ⛪️ and prayed for a miracle. It happened. Nobody was in my fishing spot on the Saturday evening after a trout stocking. Unbelievable. Went carping in 58.3 degrees Colonial Lake this evening on a cold 🥶, cloudy ☁️ day with a light northwest wind. Only saw 3 other fishermen near Route 1. Threw out Walmart canned whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught a 15” 1 lb 9 oz rainbow trout on my first cast of the day with corn 🌽 bait on my late brother John’s surf fishing outfit. That’s the first trout that I caught this year and the only one that I ever caught in the lake. Only had a few nibbles after that and caught nothing else. The trout fought harder than a carp or catfish of similar size. I’ll be looking for dead trout with corn 🌽 in their stomach now.
